I like to draw cards…

In addition to mixed media and tarot art, I like to incorporate journaling when I can. I believe journaling can benefit everyone, and how you benefit from journaling is very unique. Some people just record the events from their day in a notebook. Others may choose to write letters to or about situations and people in their lives. I personally like to use tarot in my journaling. Every morning I pull three cards with the intention to use them as a prompt for my writing. I simply set the intention that the cards I draw will prompt me to reflect on what I need to know. I also make it a point to practice gratitude; even in the times where the only thing you can be grateful for is that you are breathing. In fact, I believe it’s those times where being grateful can help us the most.

My intention for this blog is to do a weekly draw for the collective. Some weeks may resonate more with you than others, but they will be there. I’m not trying to tell the future. When I read tarot, I think about the energy and feelings coming up that might present themselves in some way for the week (or day). Feel free to read the blog post for the week and then go on to reflect or journal about the things that stuck out to you about the cards. There’s no right or wrong answers here; it’s about how you can best reflect and use the information in the way that best serves you. Writing is a powerful tool, especially when combined with art and although this site is very new, I can’t wait to put up step by step projects and journaling activities that people can use to improve their outlook on life, work through trauma and better understand themselves.
